Starting my fitness routine

Although, many people start thinking about their fitness when the bikini season is looming, it is actually very important to continue your exercise routine all year round. Myself, I am not exercising to lose weight as such (although I still have a bit of mummy tum from being pregnant just a little over 2 years ago), but to stay healthy and to stay positive and relieve stress.

Quite recently on the advice of one of my friends ClassPass. If you have not heard of it – it is a monthly subscription service which offers access to thousands of classes at studios and gyms, in my case around London, but they are located in a number of cities internationally.  The membership in London is £79 per month, but considering what you get for – it is definitely worth it.

You can attend as many classes in as many studios around the entire city as you want. There is only a small caveat – you can attend 3 classes at any one studio in any one month. From experience, this has not been an issue so far.

Yesterday I attended an Xtend Barre Class, at Xtend Barre London (the studio is located at the moment at Danceworks premises, at 16 Balderton Street).  I have to admit that this is not the first barre class that I have attended, however, this is the first class that truly made me sweat and was difficult to the point of exhaustion – which is great, because this is when I know I am truly working. I would greatly recommend this class to anyone who is looking for a bit of a challenge with the help of supportive instructors and for those who are looking to add a bit of a variety to their exercise routine.

In terms of my exercise plan throughout fall/winter I am planning to attend classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays during my lunch hour (which truly helps me break up my day) and once during the weekend. I hope that you can join me in this.
